About
Helena Chung is a Korean American poet who was born in Seoul. Her poems have been published in Salt Hill, Pleiades, The Journal, the minnesota review, Raleigh Review, Quarterly West, A Dozen Nothing, CutBank, and elsewhere. Helena has an MFA in poetry from the University of Virginia and a BA in the Writing Seminars and Film and Media Studies from Johns Hopkins University. She has been a finalist for The Georgia Review’s Loraine Williams Poetry Prize, and semi-finalist for the 92Y Unterberg Poetry Center’s Discovery Contest and her work has received funding from Bucknell University’s Stadler Center for Poetry and Brooklyn Poets. Currently, Helena resides in Washington, D.C.
